American Dream or Nightmare?

What does it really mean to be free?  For most it is the ability to live and let live, for some, it is freedom to speak ones mind, for others the pursuit of happiness.  There are many kinds of freedoms available to all Americans and that’s the way our founding fathers wanted it to be.

Freedom comes in many forms and yes, we have our flaws but this is the fault of mistakes made in our walk through life in a free country.  We have organized crime, which we somehow let grow into an institution, we have street thugs and gangs which we let grow out of our fears in which they thrive, and now we have out of control government which we let happen because they play us so well.

Is there really a difference between government that wants to cheat us out of life’s goals in a free country and those street thugs or even organized crime, no.  When we let crime take over our lives out of fear, those thugs play off our fear.  When we let a band of killers grow into an institution it is our own fault and when we allow government take away our freedoms in the name of change we are once again at fault.

Government officials seem to think that Americans cannot manage there lives so they decided it is in our best interest that they micromanage us from birth to death.  The more government grows, the less freedom we have, and the less freedom we have the more government can control us.  We are not a communist nation, a socialist nation, we are a free nation where the people elect officials to serve us.  Government seemed to forget that they work for us, or did they?  Maybe they remember oh so well and want to grow so large they can no longer be controlled and then the inmates indeed run the asylum.  Lets be free once again and start reminding government, those who work for us that we are still in charge and if they don’t start to listen to our voices, they will be out of a job very soon.
